Weekend Update

Mom’s on her way back to Wisconsin : (  She had called a few weeks before NavyGuy was set to leave, and basically said, I’m coming out to visit you the first weekend NG is gone, no arguments.  Which I was thrilled about, cuz this twenty-eight year old still needs her mom some days.  And […]

And so it begins…

NavyGuy’s first deployment is underway.  The running joke for military spouses is that as soon as the guys leave, something will break.  A child will get sick.  The car will need a repair.  The washing machine will flood the entire house.  Or all of the above.  In one day. 🙂 By all means, I’m doing […]

I don’t really have a story for this photo.  It just makes me happy.  It’s not even a particularly interesting photo, I just happened to be scrolling through the various folders, deciding what story to tell tonight, and this one caught my eye.  NavyGuy has his “I’m actually genuinely happy” face on, and he’s looking […]

Too. Tired. To. Type.

Sorry kids – yesterday wore me out.  I was up at 3:30am to take a friend to the airport, and that was the calmest part of the day.  I can barely spell my name at the moment, so the wedding recaps will have to pause for today and restart tomorrow. Where’s the Excedrin?

Keeping NavyGuy – and the rest – Safe

You may have noticed I added another button to the right sidebar, underneath the “Photos” button.  It is very important information called OPSEC, otherwise known as Operational Security. Please click on the button and read the information.  Another blogger has explained the importance of thinking before you speak – or write – about military information […]

Deployment Prep: Pack It Up

A few days before the troops are set to leave, they have to turn in all of their “luggage” to be packed on cargo planes.  So, NavyGuy spent Wednesday night packing.  And I was drafted to help.  Though I mostly viewed my role as supervisory, and gave suggestions and critiques from my comfortable position on […]
